This week was not so good. Last week was rough, too.
I could go on and on about the challenges one faces as a mother of two small Babes, but I kind of alluded to it here and here.
So you get the picture.
Awhile ago, when I was feeling a deep, deep shade of blue, I was reminded of a quote from my all time favorite movie in the whole entire universe, It’s a Wonderful Life:
“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?” Clarence
This quote gives me strength and reminds me that even though I feel small and insignificant or tired of being the bad cop, I do matter. I am important. And there is a bigger picture that I am affecting in ways that I can’t even imagine.
This quote means so much to me that I have written it down on tiny pieces of paper and strategically placed them throughout the house. Kind of like a spiritual pick-me up when I am weary.
So what gets through you a tough time? A quote? A song? A package of Pepperidge Farm Brussels cookies? Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks?
Have a great weekend!
See you back here for Movie Monday when I reveal yet another reason I failed being a teacher.

Music and I also will get myself a Mocha as a treat.
Or, if I am really out of sorts I do NOTHING at all because I move quicker when I am happy. Seriously. A day of doing nothing (or going to the zoo and blogging) really makes a difference.
I have realized that I, too, move a lot quicker when I am in a good mood. I am able to focus so much better.
But when I can't, a good cup of coffee helps, too!
You get me through. You've called, you've visited twice and I feel so much better each time. Thank you for all you do for me.
Aunt Diane
Aunt Diane, that is so sweet! Seriously!
Love you!!
When I'm blah, I look for laughs. And if no one is around, I try my favorite blogs. I laughed when I saw that you suggest Pepperidge Farm cookies pick you up. See my post here about the Pepperidge Farm truck this summer. http://sparkling74.blogspot.com/2010/07/pepperidge-farm-remembers.html
Now wouldn't it be amazing if we could all have an angel show us a 'what if' about our lives like in the movie.
Me? If I am home I try to look at the large number of pictures I have on my walls and remind myself why there are so many smiles. Oh and Dark chocolate and favorite music usually helps, too.
I love that quote. Would you believe I only recently saw It's a wonderful life for the first time a few years ago?! I know, pitiful.
Music speaks to me greater than any other medium. I can't sing or dance to save my life, but when I am down, a good run with the right music can make anything better:)
Moonspun, that would be so interesting! Pictures are a great reminder - thanks for that!
Amy, endorphins and music are pretty powerful!
Sparkle, thank you so much for stopping by my blog. There is something about laughing that just melts all the stress away.
