I bought a couple of organic whole chickens a while back, and then I realized, Oh crap...I have to hack into these poor birds. It was more than I could handle and I had to call the husband in for reinforcements.

Also, do you ever watch that show "My strange addiction?" There was a guy who, FOR YEARS, only ate raw meat. INCLUDING CHICKEN!! I swear, the images are burned into my brain and I am forever haunted by them. I bet you are pretty amazing with cleaning products & a rag!!If you keep the chicken thing goal in your consciousness, it will get better and eventually pass (sooner than later).
When I was @ 16, my boyfriend & I always liked to help my Mom prepare the many dishes that she enjoyed making. The three of us enjoyed this together. But any meat ESPECIALLY POULTRY GROSSED ME OUT EWWWW. So my Mom taught my boyfriend how to do everything with the chicken. I always observed & remember my Mom plucking or burning feathers of the skin, as well as squeezing out impurities, etc.
Lucky for me I married that boyfriend & for sometime he always prepped the chicken. Now I don't know when it all shifted. But throughout our 31 + years of marriage, I actually enjoy prepping the chicken, now. I can even debone an entire chicken (if needed). Point being I believe if you set yourself that goal of not having the chicken bother you, you will succeed. Just have lots of spray bleach on hand (like me)!
Although I've said it before, want you to know that I think of you always & know you are an amazing Mom & Being!!! xoNew York Mamanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-478024514640293628.post-23344930120182324372011-01-28T16:48:56.482-05:002011-01-28T16:48:56.482-05:00Aw, thanks, Michelle!
